Qi Gong

Qi Gong (also spelled Ch'i Kung) is a powerful system of healing and energy medicine from China. It is the art and science of using breathing techniques, gentle movement and meditation to cleanse, strengthen, and circulate the life energy. Qi means energy and Gong means skill. Together, Qi Gong is the skill of attracting vital energy and its practice leads to better health and vitality and a tranquil state of mind.

In Tao philosophy all positive forces in the universe have a negative force. These opposing forces act to balance one another out. When the Qi of the body is out of balance, the body gets sick  Maintaining a balanced Qi will insure health, and in order to restore health from sickness, the Qi must be brought back to a balanced state, thus Qi Gong is a way to balance energy and heal and ward off illness.

Qi Gong can be practised by oneself by following a set of gentle movements that are designed to cleanse and revitalise the energy lines in the body.

A Qi Gong healing can take many different forms, a Qi Gong  practitioner can transmit energy into your body through acupuncture meridians, by his/her palms, or by tapping the individual. A Qi Gong practitioner can also transmit Qi energy into inanimate objects and solutions, which when held to, or consumed by the body will transmit the Qi energy into the body and restore balance.

The benefits of Qi Gong is that it supports the body into restoring itself to its original "program", uncorrupted by stress, pollution, and disease.
